Mission Statement for the Port of Poulsbo

The Mission of the Port of Poulsbo is to responsibly pursue economic and community development, promote public access and improve the Port District for it's citizens and the greater community.

Port of Poulsbo Comprehensive PlanWe are in the process of updating our comprehensive plan.  Click HERE to review a draft of the proposed comprehensive plan.

The mission statement has been updated and the Board of Commissioners have adopted the following values for the Port of Poulsbo-

*Fiscal responsibility

*Environmental stewardship

*Maintenance of the historical character of Poulsbo

*Recognition of the importance of the relationship between an active working port and the City of Poulsbo

*Commitment to open and honest public disclosure and community involvement

Our comprehensive plan outlines our past achievements and our goals through 2012. We've made great progress in upgrading our facilities and operations, actively providing an important marine and aviation gateway to the historic downtown core of Poulsbo.

The Port markets itself and offers increased tourism opportunities for the town, helping to generate several millions of tourist dollars over the past few years. Working to provide additional moorage and use our facilities more efficiently, we serve a range of commercial and community organizations who support Poulsbo's economy and society.

Much of the work we are doing is directed toward life/safety upgrades and infrastructure longevity. Other projects are directed toward making the Port of Poulsbo more ecologically friendly and supportive of the many species of fish and wildlife who find homes at the Port for significant portions of their lives.

We are also exploring the possibilities of land acquisition in the immediate vicinity of the Port to better support our responsibility for economic development within our community, as well as provide additional parking for Port tenants.  This will help diversify Poulsbo's economy and provide additional community resiliency in meeting the changes we will encounter.
